FileZerver release V04.00.02 is now available for download for firmware update of Cyclone 2+ boards using the admin "Firmware Update" web page, ZerverView, or FTP, in file fzi0402.bin. This release can only be used on Cyclone 2+ boards, with 8MB of flash memory. The older Cyclone 2 boards have only 4MB of flash. Major Changes for V04.00.02 -- New options have been added for SmartMirror, using a more recent release of rsync (2.5.7). Options added to the admin web pages -- SmartMirror client tasks are allowed to run one a time, so that the status page for the "current" or "most recent" task makes sense. A field has been added for each task to set the "Maximum Minutes to Wait" for the ending of other SmartMirror tasks. Previously, if a SmartMirror task had been running when a second task was scheduled to start, the second task would fail to begin with an error message. Note that the exclusive use of the admin web page status display only applies to client operations -- scheduled SmartMirror tasks or those manually started. Server operations, in which a FileZerver responds to an rsync client such as another FileZerver (or even the same FileZerver), are not affected and (if enabled) can occur at any time. SmartMirror server operations can be checked with the "Server Status" "User Login History" display, in which "RSYNC" Server access will be listed. After successful completion of a SmartMirror task, a successor-task can be immediately started. This successor-task might involve the same remote host or a different one, the same directory of data or a different one, the same direction -- pull or push -- or a different one. Chains of SmartMirror tasks can be created. To monitor the success or failure of a SmartMirror task, an e-mail alert can be used. For each task, you can select any or all of the conditions for an alert -- (1) at the beginning of a SmartMirror task, (2) if a SmartMirror task cannot begin because the rsync client lock could not be obtained within the Max Minutes to wait, (3) if a SmartMirror task ends with a problem status, (4) if a SmartMirror task ends with no problem. The e-mail will be sent to one or more recipients as selected on the "System Settings" "Email Alerts" web page. To increase the usefulness of the Email Alert facility for SmartMirror and for other alert conditions, you can now specify how the "From:" field should appear. This may be needed to get through certain mail handler checks, in which the validity of the return address might be judged in various ways, looking for an opportunity to discard junk mail. Specifying the "From:" field may also help a recipient catagorize the generated messages.
